Diabetes--My Brief Overview

I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in October 1982...shortly after I turned 2 years old. I was on multiple daily injections (MDI) for the next 16 years. At 18 I went on my first insulin pump. At 27, with my 2nd pump I added a continuous glucose monitor (CGM). At 33, I was on my third pump, second sensor transmitter, was involved in a clinical trial for the Minimed Veo and Enlite Sensor, and was work with my husband and diabetes team to keep my blood sugars in good range. Now, at 41, I'm on my 5th pump, fourth CGM, left Medtronic after 20+ years, and am using Tandem and Dexcom. Some days are good and some days are not. It's a constant battle that we wage together.
